My Belief in the Power of Good Therapy...

I absolutely love what I do for a living and can't imagine doing anything else. I truly consider it an honor to be entrusted with the innermost passions, loves, concerns, fears and tears that my clients share with me. It would be a pleasure for me to speak with you, whether over the phone, at my office, or at a mutually convenient spot for coffee or a walk, to determine if I would be a good fit for you or your family.
My Therapeutic Training
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a native of Buffalo, New York. I'm a graduate of Miami University of Ohio as well as the State University of New York at Buffalo, where I completed my Masters degree. I have clinical experience at a child and adolescent residential treatment facility (http://www.wediko.org/) in the woods of New Hampshire and in Buffalo in a formal clinical therapy setting, working primarily with adult clients struggling with complex trauma issues. I also ran several co-parenting programs, meeting with parents going through contentious divorces, to help them understand the effects of divorce on their children and how to mitigate it, as well as to help them navigate their co-parenting relationship going forward.
Previous to Colorado, I lived in Santa Barbara, California where I did therapy and legal-liason consultant work for the California prison system and worked at a specialized school that nurtured middle and high school students with histories of emotional and/or behavior problems. Since moving to Colorado, I have worked for the School-based Health Clinics that are housed in the Denver Public Schools, working with some of the city's most challenging, traumatized and underserved adolescents. While working with adolescents, I started receiving requests for services from adults who had heard of my individual and family work in the areas of trauma and life transitions.
I consult with Jefferson and Denver County's District Attorneys Offices, the Sheriff's Department, as well as various child and adult victim service agencies. I am also an Expert Witness for various Colorado counties in the area of trauma.
Outside of Therapy
In my personal time, I am an avid cyclist and represent Cervelo Bikes on their ambassador team, in Golden, CO. I am involved with several civic organizations and I get out to run, hike, and garden whenever possible (mostly at the expense of having a dust-free home). I have two dogs, Ed Coconut and Bernadette (whom you will perhaps meet curled up on your feet) as well as a little human squirt, Margaret.
